Junior Data Analyst

About the Role:
DECTA is a global processing company, a provider of integrated services for payment processing,
online acquiring, and payment card issuing. Being the principal member of Mastercard and Visa
networks, DECTA offers services to banks, payment service providers, PSPs and
corporate clients with more than 2000 customers across 32 countries.
Due to the ongoing expansion of our data analytics team, we seek a proactive Junior Data Analyst to join our team.
In this role, your main focus will be supporting and maintaining our existing reporting ecosystem, troubleshooting data anomalies, and helping document our data architecture. You will work directly alongside experienced analysts, getting hands-on exposure to complex enterprise-grade data structures.

Requirements:
● Confident user of MS Excel and Google Sheets.
● Basic understanding of SQL.
● Experience with BI/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) is a plus.
● Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and high self-check standards.
● Ability to comfortably handle repetitive tasks and work with large volumes of data.
● Analytical and curious mindset capable of identifying trends and asking "why" when numbers don't match.
● Familiarity with payments or fintech will be considered a strong advantage.
● Knowledge of Latvian, English and Russian languages.

Responsibilities:
● Support and maintain current BI dashboards, operational spreadsheets and existing automated reporting workflows.
● Document data lineage across systems.
● Assist with data reconciliation processes to ensure total data accuracy and consistency.
● Prepare ad-hoc reports and data extracts based on team requests.
● Perform root-cause analysis to investigate deviations.
● Support the team with operational tasks.
● Proactively identify and propose new areas of analysis and reporting.
● Collaborate with internal teams to ensure reports align with business needs.
● Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
