Role Overview

We are seeking experienced and innovative ML Engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our technical team pioneering advanced AI engineering for e-commerce at Coupang. Our team is at the forefront of building enterprise knowledge graphs and semantically aware systems powered by deep AI reasoning.

In this role, you will focus on building next-generation e-commerce knowledge graphs while pushing the boundaries of Semantic reasoning, AI safety, and mechanistic interpretability to deliver transparent, reliable, and highly intelligent AI capabilities at scale.

Basic Qualifications

8+ years of relevant experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related fields

5+ years of experience in AI/ML and familiarity with the latest deep learning techniques

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of relevant experience in technology companies or organizations

Knowledge in e-commerce or eagerness to learn

Experience applying Large Language Models or Large Image Models augmented with RAG ( Retrieval-Augmented Generation) for large enterprise application in an industry

Hands-on with ability to design and implement high-quality algorithms / systems independently

3+ years working experience in Graph system, Graph Neural Network (GNN), Ontology, and Knowledge Graph

2+ years working experience in Semantic understanding, NER, and NLP/U

1+ years working experience in building foundational models.

Ability to dive deep into the algorithms / systems and generate ideas of improvements

Ability to efficiently run experiments, analyze results, and quickly iterate

Solid track record of delivering big business impacts via technology innovations

Excellent communications and collaborations across teams and across functionalities

Experience with model optimization techniques like quantization, CUDA level optimization, distillation

Optional: AI Safety and Governance knowledge.

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $174,000/year to $299,000/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A nnual bonus is 0-20% of the base salary.
